Cartoonology is a blog that celebrates the fun and complexity of cartoons and focuses on the study of their character archetypes, plot tropes, and narrative structures, at least when the blogger decides to write something instead of reblogging gifs and pretty fan art. This is one of my favorite movies ever. Over the summer, I found an old VHS tape and watched it for the first time in years. I loved it just as much as I did when I was 10. I know “never give up on your dreams” is a rather overdone moral, but Cats Don’t Dance illustrates it with such spirit that it never fails to leave me inspired. And the music is absolutely fantastic too.
